Our strong links with Plumpton College help to support and inspire the next generation entering the Wine Industry. Ridgeview’s Vineyard Manager, Matt Strugnell and Head Winemaker, Simon Roberts regularly give talks, host visits and offer mentoring to share their knowledge and experience with students.

In partnership with Plumpton, we have joined the National Apprenticeships Scheme, to offer a new Vineyard Apprentice position at Ridgeview. This will enable individuals to gain unique experience in our vineyard, focusing on sustainable practises and viticulture of the highest quality, to forge a rewarding and long-lasting career in the wine industry.

In 2021, we launched the Ridgeview Harvest Academy to support and encourage local individuals, who were out of work, to explore a career in English wine. We were delighted to offer all interested participants paid employment at Ridgeview during our 2021 harvest, joining us as press loaders and pickers.
